Performance Opportunities

At Mishmak we’re all about performing, you learn by doing, so we give our young people as many chances to get out there and do their thing as we can.

Our term time classes lead to two performances per year, one at Christmas and one in July. In addition, our over 12s are invited to participate in NT Connections annually which includes a home and partner theatre performance of a play commissioned by the National Theatre.

We are always on the lookout for additional performance opportunities and previous works include The Time Capsule series of films in Lockdown 2020 (in association with Company Three); the London Youth Games (Crystal Palace); the Arts Network Sutton Launch; video campaign for Fearless (Crimestoppers); music videos and various Christmas Lights Switch Ons. As part of Big Dance 2014, our younger members performed at Big Dance Bus Sutton while our older members performed (in association with Siobhan Davies Dance Studio and the National Theatre’s Watch This Space) in Routes to the River on the South Bank in London.

A few of our members have signed with agents and do professional acting work. This is a huge commitment and needs substantial support from parents/guardians for this to work successfully. The whole Mishmak team is always happy to chat about the routes into professional work if that is something that is of interest.
